He made his film debut in The Way Home and his drama debut in Daddy Fish. Then Yoo went onto television dramas Love Letter, Sad Love Story and The Legend where he played teenager Damdeok.

In 2008, Yoo participated in the I Love Asia Project along with other celebrities such as Park Jin-Young, Jackie Chan, Wonder Girls, Jang Nara, Wheesung and many others to support the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.

He was featured in T-ara's music video "Lies" in early 2009 and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon & The One's music video for the song titled "Like The Stars" which was released on November 17, 2010.
Also, in earlier in 2010, he and IU sang a duet together called "I Believe In Love" for a popular Korean charity show, Love Request, where he had gone to the slums of India and Sri Lanka and witnessed their living conditions. The duet was written with reference to the diary that Seung Ho had written while he was overseas.
He started his mandatory military service in March 2013 and came back on December 4, 2014.
